The B.E.S.T. Project

The B.E.S.T. Project stands for "Building Excellence for our Students Today". In a school system that has become known for its excellent teachers and outstanding students, it is time to build a school that will continue to support this level of excellence.

Thanks to the Board of Supervisors approval of the comprehensive agreement on December 1, 2006, this will now become a reality! Once in place, Cumberland will not only have the proud pleasure of having a fully-accredited school system but also the home of a state-of-the-art, fully enclosed, safe, new Middle and High School complex within the 2008 school year!

Please visit the Cumberland Co. Public Schools website (http://www.cucps.k12.va.us) to view key achievements and an overview of the project timeline. You will also find information here regarding the 'Generations Courtyard Brick Campaign' that will memorialize the original 1936 High School building.

For more information on the project progress or the brick campaign, email Karen Mulleins at kcmulleins@cucps.k12.va.us.

There is a very useful video, "10 Small Business Mistakes" concerning ADA accomodations, that they would like to make available to as many businesses as possible. Click here to view the video.

If you would like more information on the Disability Board, please contact Melody Foster at (434) 392-6104 or mfostercrc@ntelos.net
